Anyone have suggestions for NFA engraving near KC? (Page 1 of 2)

So I had planned on using Reactive Laser to have my lower engraved but they just confirmed that they are only doing commercial work now. I am finding very little on a Google search for other places around the metro area. Does any one have any suggestions or experiences they would like to share? The closer to Lees Summit the better as well. *EDIT* See update about KAE below. Think we have a good option for this area again. |

Midwest can be hit or miss on engraving on the spot. He has done 2 for me, one while I waited and one I had to drop off, I think that one took 2-3 days. Charger Arms has done all the rest of mine, while I wait and has done 15-20 for me. I’d call the shop and just ask if they can do it while you wait. |

Funny enough though the gas cost plus engraving fees will probably make it about the same price as that Beaded Skulls place lol. Also, since Charger is in Kansas, is there any issue taking my lower there before I have filled out the 5320 form? I have read in the NFA handbook that without the NFA upper attached to it or readily able to be attached, its not considered an NFA item. I would hate to have to fill out that form and wait for approval before I could take it and have it engraved. |

You can always take a 16"+ upper with you to show you are not using it as an nfa item maybe. |

So I made the trek out to Charger Arms today and got my engraving done. Turned out great and the guys out there are super friendly and very welcoming to BS around with while you're waiting. They did recommend Kae Custom Coatings which is here in Lees Summit. So my next lower I will contact them and check them out which will be much nicer being they are MUCH closer. |

I highly recommend KAE. They recently engraved an SBR for me. It was engraved inside the trigger guard along the sides of the trigger hole(?) They will ask you to provide a copy of the NFA paperwork. This is so they can engrave it properly and make sure the engraving matches the NFA paperwork. E.G. Someone tells them the name to engrave is mytrustinfo when the approved NFA paperwork says themystrustinfo. |
| Gonna bump this one up. I had used KAE several times and they did a good job for lot much money. A friend of mine just tried to get in touch with them several times for an engraving and they never replied to him either. He ended up going with Bearded Skull Guns. I’m going to check them out when I get my approval and I’ll update this thread when I use them. |
