We've reached the point where soon my wife will need more care than I can provide. Would appreciate any recommendations for reputable palliative home health care organization in the area. Thanks ahead for any guidance in this difficult time. |

Look at the department of aging site, https://www.hhs.texas.gov/services/aging they might have what you are looking for. I placed my mom in memory care in February. Anything home related would be too expensive as she cant be alone. Do a goog search for what your looking for and you will come up with a list of local providers for home health care services. |

We use "Visiting Angels" for my mom, It's been about 6 months now and it's working OK. This is her first general home care, she had PT and wound care for a while before this that Medicare covered. (hip surgery and fall) They come in three times a week for four hours, help her bathe, cook some meals, clean, inventory food and order groceries online, ( debit card tied to our account) HEB delivers both food and medications. What i like is that they document everything. Does mom need refills? I get a text. What is the debit card being spent on? I get an emailed receipt. They even do a weekly mental/health assessment. I'm not sure how they handle memory care patients, my mom is %100 mentally and mainly needs the help due to poor vision and lack of mobility. (Stroke and diabetes) It's not cheap, I'm pretty sure thay have presence in Austin. (Mom is in Corpus Christi) |
