Ive been living in the county for 14 years now. I looked at joining about 10 or 12 years ago, and life just got in the way. I love shooting at distance, and in the past shot with a friend at the Detroit Sportsmans Congress in Shelby Twp at their 200 yard range. If you are a member of the HGC please let me know about joining. I work in Waterford and Wayne, so other that my neighbors and people Ive met through my kids school/sports I dont personally know anyone at the HGC. Thanks, feel free to DM me too. |

My wife is a member of HGC, and we like it a lot. Our experience there has been shooting in pistol (both Defensive and Precision) leagues, and the people have been great. The indoor pistol range is open to the Public on Thursdays and Sundays, which would be a good time to visit; http://howellgunclub.org/hgc/ranges/pistol-indoor-outdoor |

Blue Water Sportsman's Association, near Port Huron has some good facilities and regular 600 yard shoots. The normal rifle range only goes to 200, but they block off parts and reconfigure to do long range events periodically. You can come try out as a non-member, too. |

Twenty year member here. Need two sponsors but a Michigan CPL waives that requirement. $50.00 initiation fee plus $10 for a RFID gate card. $150 dollars a year regular $125 if 62 or older Spouse included both cases as well as children 18 & under First year only eight hours volunteer time, one and done. Indoor range 24/7 and $3.00 fee Outdoor ranges no fee, guests of members pay $5.00 per day while shooting with members Must be certified to use indoor range, mainly for vent system operation and 500 foot outdoor, safety reasons. 50 foot pistol, 55 yard steels, 100 yard no certification necessary. Indoor pistol and 50 foot/55 yard ranges have some restrictions posted at the ranges. Pretty much covers it all |
