I would really like to get my hands on the SBR version and fire just a single round (surpassed of course) just to see if eating Ramen Noodles for the next 8 months is worth the price of admission..........

| I don't have one, did look into it (the cartridge, not the rifle,) because I'm always willing to consider something different, but was spooked by the issue that 8.6 Blackout has. If I recall right, the speed of rotation caused bullets to disintegrate upon exiting the barrel. I don't remember if it ever was resolved, but it may have been complicated by being created by someone who is never wrong. And "you, Mr. Customer, are a retard for having problems with my products and an asshole for questioning my design. Now buy my stuff." |

I do not have a Q rifle, but I have built my own AR and bolt action in 8.6. It is not for the faint of heart as I finally found a store with ammo, in WV. At $3.40 ish a round, let's just say I will not be doing any mag dumps. As far as the 1-3 twist issue, i believe the spin was casing jacketed bullets to spin apart. From what I have read, the 1-6 does not seem to have these issues. My knowledge is only from reading about the issues, so I am not claiming to be an expect. The solid copper bullets are supposedly what needs to be used in 1-3 twist. |
| Fortunately I've been a hard-core reloader for many, many years. Yes, it's still expensive for no real apparent reason. If I was smart I would build the 338 ARC upper instead. My only drawback to that is finding a barrel of the quality that I am comfortable with. However, I might just be a dummy missing out on a good barrel from ignorance? |

I actually looked at going with 338arc at first. I liked that it used regular sized AR lowers, uppers, and bolt carriers. the issue I kept seeing come up was the magazines. Nobody was making a magazine that they could get to work 100% reliably. Geissele reportedly makes one that works most of the time but was very expensive. The last I looked; it seemed the go to was using a 400 legend mag with reduced capacity. I already had uppers, lowers, and other parts for a 308 AR and a bolt action. So, all I needed to make a bolt gun and an AR in 8.6 was the barrels, muzzle devices, and a new suppressor. For me at least, 8.6 won due to the mag issue. But if they ever get the mag issue fixed, I just might have to buy a new barrel in 338arc and a bolt and just do a barrel swap in one of my other ARs. Probably will have some other bugs to work out. To be honest, both of these guns are just for the "cool factor" of shooting that big of bullet suppressed. They really were just a rabbit hole i jumped into and an excuse for a new suppressor. |
