I live in WV, do most of my shooting at my mom's in MD. I make sure to only take ARs legal in MD, but I have a couple Form 1s pending, is there anything I need to do to legally take them into Maryland, beyond the ATF notification? A form 5 I think? Thanks |

Your transportation form is going to be a 5320.20 "Application to transport interstate..." and that would get you covered regarding paperwork. Maryland does have a minimum length of 29" for semi-auto SBRs that I would *guess* applies to bringing AR-type rifles in. You might research the specific law about how that is measured and what it applies to, or someone with better knowledge of the specifics can chime in.. |

A centerfile rifle can only have 1 of the following or it is banned; folding stock, flash hider, grenade launcher. These are called the copycat features and are held to apply to SBRs in MD. Thanks for the info, I will stick with just bringing my Ruger AR556 into MD. As its an HBAR, non SBR, from my understanding they're MD legal still. |
