I’m looking for a barber shop that cuts men’s hair. Not a woman in a beauty shop or a Mexican “bald fade” shop. I’m not looking for a fade or military white walls. Just a clean haircut. I thought someone here mentioned a man’s barber shop that was very 2ndA friendly in DFW. Maybe Haltom City? I usually just have my wife buzz my hair but occasionally if we are doing something special I get a store bought haircut. Usually SuperCuts but the past couple of times the haircut hasn’t been good. Any suggestions? |

The best two that I know of are more like hipster places. Rebel Barber Society in Waxahachie. Kind of a weird/cool eclectic vibe inside. The kid who cut my hair was a marine. Did a good job, pleasant conversation. The other "barber" was a young blonde in super short shorts with tattoos and converse sneakers and a long sleeve t-shirt. Some lady had brought her 6 - 9 year old sons in for hair cuts and she was doing those. Those kids are probably ruined for life. The other one, and it's been a while, was between Midlothian and Waxahachie on 287. Again, very hipster, appointment only. I guess it was Lucky's. Same kinda place as Rebel. One girl cutting hair, a couple of hipster white guys, and a Mexican guy. Downtown barber shop in Ennis is ok. The guy who runs it is Mexican, I think he has ties to Dallas Fire, or at least he knew guys from DFR last time I was there. But if you want old fashioned, a guy in a white smock, Hathcock's in Crandall. The dude there had to be 80 something and his clippers get so hot, it will burn your ears. |

| I've gone to Bazooka Charlie's, a chain, a few times and been happy. Last time they got my hair where I want it, previous two were closer but I think this stylist understood best what I wanted. Even though it's WWII-themed, it's not all about military cuts. They'll cut your hair how you want. |

My ex-wife had died and I was shuffling my kids around that Sunday, figured I'd better grab a haircut while I had a minute. The little Asian lady there was very thorough, trimmed all my ear hair, neck, eyebrows, etc. very meticulously. That place wouldn't have been my first choice, but she did good. There was also one of those freaky older chicks there, typical for these kinds of places, so your mileage may vary, but I'd go back to let the Asian lady cut my hair if I lived there. |

There are a handful of properties West of town that I like and can afford, but I don't want to mess with that trip across the lake. Or play Russian Roulette with these data centers. Landowners out there seem to be in denial and still have prices high, but they are going to crater if one of the data centers nearby actually breaks ground. |
