Original question - did the M1 Carbine avoid your latest ban? Heard the Mini-14/Mini-30 did not, but y'all still have the SKS & Type 81. Washington banned the SKS & we can't get any new Type 81s. Is the M1 Carbine w/ 5 round mags still legal in Canada? ETA: Another question: With the ban on handguns, does that mean your supply of 10 round AR mags for your AR-180s is nuked, or are they still available as parts for existing handguns? |

It's one of those "out there" issues in my opinion. I have a document (emailed) from the RCMP in Ottawa, detailing exactly what 10 round AR mags are still legal and how to identify them. It is very specific and there are lots of knock offs that do not meet the criteria of the document. Having said that, I don't have any and even if I did I don't think they'd leave my home/property. For instance I would never carry one in my vehicle. IF I got pulled over the local cop will probably not believe me and charge/seize it as an illegal (overcapacity) magazine. I wouldn't try to bring any across the CDN/USA border either. Same deal. Regarding purchase and sale, they're out there but I haven't seen much around lately. The ones I have seen did not meet the criteria of the document. Hope that makes sense and helps answer your question. |
