Hi New York, I started watching her youtube videos when she was talking about her homestead, and I thought she was cute. I don't know her. I don't get anything from her. She's been posting about solar farms in upstate NY lately. Seems the government is doing some shady stuff. Her youtube page Her house of green Substack I'm signed up for the free emails. This is the opening of one of her latest posts. "Our properties are being quietly marketed to foreign renewable corporations, with New York State's permission, to make it easier for them to piece together 30+ parcel solar/wind complexes near substations." I live in PA, but I wanted to share this if you guys were not aware. |

She is not wrong about the solar issue in NY. ORES is an out of control behemoth that runs roughshod over the desires of the local municipality. There is a bill in the state Senate to abolish ORES but it only has 4 sponsors, all Republican which means it has no chance of going anywhere. The "farm" on her channel is not a homestead but more of a farm building where she sells some vegetables in her farmstand. My understanding is that she does not live at the farm. |

She does do a nice job of informing viewers about the issues but a bunch of her vids are just a regurgitation of previous ones. I have two major concerns. One, is energy prices going up to support down state energy needs. The second one which I do not believe she has covered but was mentioned on a local town forum in my area and that is the city changing the regulations to open NYC lands to solar and wind farms projects. I live just above one of the NYC upstate reservoirs and all of the land across from me is supposed to be left in pristine condition to protect the drinking water. If they were to change regulations my fear is I will be looking at solar panels as far as the eye can see. NYC should put a nuke plant in their own backyard to achieve their power needs. |

NYSDEC stopped the project initially but Hochul intervened and it was swiftly reapproved. Obviously the right people are getting rich from this but it isn't benefitting us. If the right palms get paid they'll put it on NYC's watershed land too. There really was no stopping this. It's ridiculous. If you were trying to do something else with the 800 acres, a motor cross track or campground, or whatever DEC would never have been told to back off by the Governor. |

this chick is trying to do whats right that is get the regulators to approve project in places that could have multipurpose solar panels on building roofs, parking lots, unusable for any purpose land like crazy sidehills and reclaimed mining areas etc etc etc in the same time, she has taken to preaching on the road................gong to other states and making waves..........all for a fee of course but all in all i believe she has her heart in the right place................ BTW, she made her money as an author and has paid cash for everything...good for her |
