Cross posted on the IL hometown forum- As the title states. A few of us are getting together next Sunday for a hike. Humiston Woods is a smaller park with basically a single loop that's just under 3 miles, so it's perfect for anyone who might not be sure of their capabilities, as we'll pass the parking lot about every three miles. Trails are not particularly groomed, more natural terrain. Mud, some roots, sloppy uphills, etc. Choose your footwear wisely. Bring a pack and get your provisional hike in or just come walk with us and say hi. Provisional hike is 3 miles with 35lbs. Everything after that is 45lbs, so if you might want to log more, bring an extra 10lbs.
