| My wife and I are traveling through and she booked an ABnB here last night. It's right north of 40, off of Rio Grnade. No complaints about the apartment, it was tastefully furnished and clean. Parking was in a fenced area. This got me wondering about vehicle burglary. Would this neighborhood be a high crime area? |

| Unfortunately it’s seems car burglaries and auto theft go up around Balloon Fiesta and doesn’t seem like any place in Albuquerque is 100% safe. Biggest tip is don’t leave anything in your car, especially overnight. That area being close to 40 if gated is probably decently safe, Hope you enjoy your time here. |
| Going to piggyback on this thread with a similar question. Staying in central ABQ this summer for a night at a hotel. Del Rey Neighborhood. Theres a cracker barrel, Trader Joes, Hilton nearby. Seems like a central business district. Bringing all my gear inside with me overnight. Should be safe? Not going for a walk or anything. Concerned about car theft or break in with out of state plates. |

When you get there, you’ll be confused because Ellison St becomes San Antonio Dr when you’re on the East side of I-25. It’s also a 2 lane road & it becomes very clogged during rush hours. It’s not crazy bad like Phoenix or Dallas, but just be aware that if you’re going anywhere during rush hours just add an extra 30 mins to get there. Another good thing about that area is there are no gas stations in the immediate area, which the bums are attracted too, so they should only be moving through the area not hanging out in it.
