I've gotten a hankering for a .22 lever action for some reason. Google search says a Browning BL-22 Is the best, but the price point seems to be a bit high for a fun gun. Need to hit the shops... |

The Henrys are about as good as it gets now for lever 22s. I dont like the fact they are using aluminum recievers, but it is what it is. I guess brass is an option too. Winchester and Browning still make a couple, but Id want to see them in person before purchase. If you can find an older Marlin 39a? Then youll have something special. Too bad Ruger will never make one. |

After thousands of rounds it is still remarkably accurate. If you can find one, they are fantastic! Mine is late 50's, early 60s. Purchased in Japan while my Dad was in the Air Force. Carved stock, inlayed forend and engraved metal. It's sweet! Nothing wrong with a Henry. |

The original owner maybe put a box thru it, and and guy I bought it from never shot it. Unfortunately the used RemOil on it before they put it away and it hardened into yellow goo and I had to strip the wood and soak it in acetone to get the action apart. Once I did that, she shoots great. Only thing I did was put a set of Skinner peep sites on mine. |
