I haven't been on this site much, but I heard that Doug passed away recently and came to check in. I've thought about him often over the years after we lost touch. I moved to Washington and he moved to Alaska and then back to Georgia. Doug was a great guy. I really enjoyed his wit, humor, passion, and commitment to getting things done the right way. Like Binga, I also remember taking the Utah course at his house so many years ago and seeing him at meetups and Georgia Packing events. Such a great man. He will be missed. RIP, DKing |

It was actually the first time I got to meet him face to face. My son and I attended to thank him for advising us when Emu Jr. accidentally took a knife to school and was charged with a felony as a minor. Also typical of DKing, he refused any sort of compensation, and his advice was absolutely spot on. I spent much of Friday with his widow cataloging his firearms in preparation to sell most them. Due to unforeseen circumstances she is likely to lose their home. I cannot elaborate further, and do not know when/if they will be available for purchase. |

I did indeed see that Cetme! It was a good looking rifle. I do not know if he ever got it to function properly, but I certainly did admire it when I saw it. It would be interesting to know the various stories behind his firearms. He had a very nice collection! Thanks for sharing!!!
