I'm in VA, but at a wedding this past Oct, the groom's best man told me he worked at Original Valentina's Pizzeria, so a couple weeks later I visited and tried it. Another vote for the City Cafe. You may as well have the waiter bring a TO GO BOX when he takes your order. They have a dessert display as you enter, but you won't need to order dessert, you'll be stuffed. |

My wife and I went to the north side square downtown Huntsville and ate dinner at Jack Brown's Beer and Burgers place. Excellent selection of both national and local beers and pretty good hamburgers. https://www.jackbrownsjoint.com/menu/ I highly recommend it for beer and burgers night! My wife says it's almost impossible to get in on Saturdays. |

412 Public House in Cullman. Eclectic menu, we stopped in en route to Nashville. I had the Cajun fried catfish sandwich (3 filets, Dagwood style stacked,  ....) and she had the smoked gouda burger.Very good, generous portions. Not big on sours, but I had their house special, traditional whiskey Sour, made with egg whites, surprisingly good. I'd definitely eat there again if we lived closer. |

My wife, granddaughter and I went to Hickory Store BBQ last Thursday around 4:15 PM or so. It opens at 4, so it was already busy. Sign on the wall had their specials with a caveat: "Until We Run Out!". Apparently, this is a recurring theme with their new opening. If you go, I would go early. I got the wings and smoked sausage. Both were excellent! My wife got the loaded potato (she said too much white sauce; will order it on the side next time) and she got my two sides: Mac and cheese and fried okra. Granddaughter ate the okra and mac and cheese. Wasn't interested in the sausage or wings. Beer selection was about 6-7 draft beers (mostly local breweries near as I could tell) and then 10-12 canned and bottled varieties. Note: there was no faggot beer shown nor advertised. We'll be going again. |
