| I have just picked up a tx22 toro, put given it a red dot and frt and then tried it at the range. out of the two magazines it chambered a round once, otherwise it did not pick up a round from the magazine. if I hand cycle the slide it works as an ersatz bolt action fairly well. on disassembly everything looks right to my shooter but not a gunsmith eyes. any suggestions would be appreciated. |
| Load the magazine by depressing the follower a small amount and inserting a single round at a time. Do not depress the follower to the bottom of the magazine and then add rounds because the tail of a higher case will catch behind the tail of a lower case in the magazine and it will not strip rounds out of the magazine properly while the slide cycles. This improper loading will cause rounds to nose dive into the rear of the chamber or the front of the magazine lip. Also, some 22LR hollow points don’t feed worth a shit. |
| I was finally able to take my tx22 out. 4 of the 5 mags will not feed. As mentioned above you can see that the rounds will not come up properly in the mag. The nose of the round stays about level and won't feed. Thas was with a variety of ammo. |

I even had my buddy load some up with the same results. I was frustrated at that point and just put it away. I'm going to go through the pistol and mags give them a thorough cleaning/inspection and see if anything improves. |

Finally got to shoot mine today and it was dead nuts reliable with CCI standard velocity and a Rugged Oculus. I think maybe one or two FTF out of the 800 rounds we shot, which is spectacular for a rimfire. For those of you having loading/feeding issues, get a lightnin loader, that little thing is awesome and loads the mags perfectly. |

@Donnchaid Adding @Engineer5 A few thoughts. See if the spring lengths are different between the mag that works, vs. the mags that don't. I would try stretching the springs in the non-functioning mags a bit. Try to add an inch or so to start out, but you may need to add more. Try to add a little more each attempt. You could also order new springs from Taurus, but stretching the ones you have will give you some instant feedback. Also, as others have mentioned above, clean the mags while you have them apart. Try a bore brush, if you have one that won't deform the magazine & use a graphite based lube. Lastly, clean & lube the guns thoroughly, especially if you bought these guns used. And it wouldn't hurt to polish the feed ramp either. I have had this work for me in the past with a .22 that was having the exact same issues. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. John |
