Local chain here (FIN Feather and Fur) is selling their 115gr 9mm for 8.99 a box. Any thoughts? See a lot of bad reviews. Thanks |

I've shot several thousand rounds of the ZSR 115 grain FMJ. I didn't have any QC problems with it like failures to fire, hang fires, or accuracy issues. However, it is pretty weak. The average velocity out of my 4.7" LTT 92G was 1040 fps. That is really slow for 115 grain 9mm in a barrel that long. It worked fine in the various 92s I tried it in. However, it was unreliable in various Glocks (regular failures to eject and/or feed), and it wouldn't run at all in my Beretta APX A1. It was just too weak to cycle the guns. However, it ran fine in my open bolt SMGs for whatever reason. So, we burned up the remaining stock of it I had at the Ohio SMG match two weeks ago. No issues with it there. I won't buy it again because of its performance in Glocks. The Turkish 124 grain stuff seems to run in everything. |

I've shot 10s of thousands of ZSR 9mm over the last few years. It's fine for practice ammo. The primers are slightly harder than common US brands. It you're using a striker gun with a race trigger, you might get a very occassional light strike. Otherwise, it runs fine for me. I get 100% ignition in 1911s, CZ75, and M&P. Glocks with light triggers are the only guns that I've seen with occassional light strikes. As for relative power, they do not feel like light loads to me. Blazer Brass shoots softer. |

I picked some up from Sportsman Fulfillment for like $8.50 a box a couple weeks ago. (sold out fast) Quick Google search pulls up mixed reviews for rifle stuff, but 9mm seems to be fine. I don't care if it's dirty, I'm OCD about cleaning anyway. At $8.50 for new manufactured brass ammo, I'll roll the dice on 500 rounds and check it out. |

| It is the one ammunition so far that has caused my M&Ps and Glocks to light primer hit rather easily. Early on I thought something was up with the pistols, but had friends experience the same thing in theirs. Apparently this happens rather often as I have seen similar comments when doing research. Other than that, I did not have issue, the ammo was free in my particular case. Certainly got real good with malfunction clearing when shooting that ammo. |
