Anyone currently own one and carry it? I've been watching a few auctions on GB and some are going for ~250.00 used. And they peak my interest, but not sure it would ever go into my carry rotation with all the micro 9's. Is the juice worth the squeeze? What have been users experience with the .45 versions specifically. Push me over the edge |

I have one of the first ones out. There was a trigger recall due to a perceived Sig like discharge and the fix made the trigger terrible. Not mine though. For some reason it came back better or at least just as good as before sent in. Then I worked it even more for a real nice trigger. The kits that lighten springs to get a better trigger lead to misfires. They often don't hit the primers hard enough. Keep in mind it is a striker fired gun with much of the striker fired slop that their triggers experience, but all in all it falls into the upper end of striker fired triggers. They came with a seven round magazine also. They are well built and I take it for a ride at least twice a month. |

The recall was due to "slam-fire during loading or a double-fire when the trigger is squeezed once." OP, I've considered getting one a few different times but have always decided against it because I've determined I wouldn't ever carry it. So, for me, no. If you decide to get a used one, you'll probably want to verify that the recall has been completed. |
| I’ve looked and come close a few times. I bought a Gen 5 Glock 30 (10 shots or 13 with Glock21 mags). I had a Gen 3 Glock 30 a few years back and the Gen 5 is much more accurate for me. It’s wider than my 23 or 19 but relatively the same size. Main reason I got it was the stupid 10 round mag laws in Oregon and Washington apply to retired police because the slackers in Senate Judiciary can’t get off their ass and pass the bill that Congress already passed. The Senate needs a major overhaul. |

I have one of the post recall versions. I've got both the five round magazines and the seven magazines. The combination of the backstrap safety, the trigger safety and the short frame made Ime work hard trying to get all those things to work and get off a round. It was like wrestling with a boa and took me significant range time to get used to it and get it to work consistently. It's also got a sharp recoil so it's a challenge to get a second shot off on target and it's not that accurate. I wouldn't get another. |

I know a guy who bought one a few years back. His carry gun is usually either a 1911 or an XD .45 acp compact. We took it to the range. He shot it. He let me shoot a magazine through it. He never brought it shooting again and I'll never ask him to bring it. I own/shoot a 2&3/4" Speed Six .357 magnum. A 4" M29 S&W. Several .40's including a Shield and a 1.0 sub compact and an FNS-C .40. That XDS .45 was the most unpleasant handgun I've ever shot. As soft as a Shield .40 is with Winchester 180 grain hollow points I can't imagine carrying anything that small except the Shield. I've even got a Shield with a .357 SIG conversion barrel that doesn't recoil as bad as that XDS .45 does. I like to shoot my carry guns and enjoy practice with them. |

I was gifted an XDs 45 for retirement. I must have got a lemon, sent it back twice as, on occasion, the slide wouldn't go all the way into battery and I can't have that. I ended up trading it in for a Glock 21. |

| I picked one up today with 2 5rd mags, 2 6rd mags, and 1 7rd mag and a kydex iwb holster for $299. It's a badass little piece. The 6rd mag feels perfect. The 5rd is pocketable but my pinky floats, the 7rd feels big like a 1911. Trigger on mine is fair+ to good. Everything I've read and watched (until this thread) says it is by far the smoothest shooting 45 subcompact available. |
