What red dots are you folks using on your Sub and or Compact XD 40 cals? I have a Holosun 407k sitting around the house, and was wondering how the field of view would be on either pistol? These pistols are not optic ready, so I have to purchase a dove dot for either pistol.. |

I have dots on most of my XD/XDm's. I prefer the Holosun's as I get the green dots which results in less bloom for my eyes. I only have one K model and that is for my M&P Shield otherwise all my others are RMR foot print 407/507 C's. They work great as long as the minor overhang doesn't bother your OCD. I have them on full size and compacts, though my XDSC remains an iron sight only. I also recommend having your slide milled vs, going with the dovetail mount. Powder River Precision has done all mine the only downside is they are very expensive. |

| None of my XDSCs have an optic. I bought a complete OSP slide for my old XD40 full size beater and put a 407c on it, its great. Even with the cut slide and plate the dot is kind of high, a dovetail mount would be super high. I do have a 407k on a full size VP9 that I got cut for the 407k and I like it a lot. I don't feel like the FOV is too bad on it. |

@fly223 Here's some pics from the OSP slide with a Holosun 407A3, same foitprint as the 407C. There's quite a bit of overhang, and with the plate it sits pretty high, a hair above the slide level so the LCI has space to pivot.
