Bought one of these about 20 years ago or so and just recently dug it out of the safe. I had neglected the cleaning and lubing for many years and tonight corrected that. For what it is and what I paid for it, a lot of bang for bunch IMHO. Anyone else own one? |

Not an XD9 but I am a fan of the series so to speak. Most have either full blown PRP trigger kits or a combo of PRP parts. The XDm 9's have been shot the most with somewhere around 25k for the one with green dot and the other around 10k, the others a mix of 500 rounds up to 5k possibly more based on when purchased. All have been extremely reliable and accurate. XDm45 XDm45c w/Green Dot XDSC XDm Elite 9 comped w/ RMR XDm Elite 9 XDm 9 x2 one w/Green Dot, other just night sights XD Mod3 w/Green Dot XD Service 45 sold to my cousin because he really wanted one, should have never sold it. |

| The XD is an excellent platform. Just a bit heavy and chunky for concealed carry. Otherwise, super easy to shoot accurately and extremely robust construction. The .45acp models are my favorite due to the slightly larger grip, which just fits my hand better. |

It runs like a Swiss watch from my experience. I also have the XDM Elite in 10MM, my out west bear pistol. It shoots just as well as my regular XD. It shoots very accurately and is not near as bad recoil wise as I thought it would be. |

On the original ones there is a roll pin in the slide that likes to break if you dry fire it a lot. I went through 6 of them before I switched to a G19. Still have the 20+ year old XD9 and aside from the roll pin breakage from dry firing it has never malfunctioned. It does have a better trigger than the Glock. |

My LGS had an XD-M 5.25 in 9mm on GB. Consignment gun, starts at a penny. Bids were going no where so I tossed a bid at it. Didn't expect to get it but bids stalled out at $215 and now it's mine. Six mags, Powder River trigger, fiber optic adjustable sights, box, holster, mag carrier, papers. I'm guessing someone's IDPA or IPSC gun. Never even considered getting one of these but it was too cheap to pass up. |

The original XD9 was one of my first centerfire pistols back in the early 2000's. I was a revolver guy up until then. Loved the grip angle and yes, the grip safety feature. I shot is so much that the locking block eventually cracked. You have to remember that 9mm was $4.99 a box back then - and SA not only replaced the locking block but paid shipping both ways. They also refinished the pistol in their duty coat as well. It was a bit chonky for concealed carry but was my home defense, light mounted pistol for many, many years. It was accurate and reliable, felt good in the hand. Sold it off to a friend, but I look back fondly at the years it was my primary. And, by the way, it was $325 brand new with 3 magazines. Croatia got this one right. I prefer the original to all of the versions that came afterwards. |

XD-M is my most accurate pistol. Puts them right on top of one another into a small ragged cloverleaf if I do my part  And having a standard capacity 19 round Mega-zine is pretty sweet too! Bigger_Hammer

| I have a XD OSP 9mm slide that I put on an old XD40 frame and an XD9 subcompact slide on a former XD40sc frame. Both are much more enjoyable to shoot as 9s than 40s. I aslo have a factory XD9sc I got for a song. Its a Brazilian police contract overrun so its stamped on the slide and came with a manual in Portugese. |

| I actually held an XD9 for th first time in a long time at the LGs last weekend. Solid feel, good trigger and a ref fiber front sight that popped in the light. Reasonably priced but I’m deep in Glock land so I put it back. Morning wrong with them, I’d consider an XD45 tactical for the funsies. |

I'm still trying to sync with my new XDM Elite 3.8 Compact. I love the way it looks but feels very clunky in hand. I've added Springfields suppressor height sights and a red dot. I couldn't shoot it accurately with just the OEM irons. Now with a red dot, it punches holes where I want it to. Attached File Attached File |

My main motivation was to free up limited safe space. That being said, it was at a time when XD's were apparently worth more (or the gun store was willing to give me more for it than that) and I also put quite a few rounds on it, so it was well used and I didn't really expect someone to pay full price. |

I bought one like new XD9 from a forum member back in 2013(?). Carried it everyday for 11-12 years. I have more expensive guns but that gun never missed a beat from day 1. I'm sure i have 10k rounds through that pistol easily. Replaced the roll pins with coiled ones, dawson Fiber front sight, FatDaddy flat trigger, SP striker and Mec-Gar 18 round flush fit mags. Liked it better than any Glock I've owned and I carried personal and issued Glocks in LE for many years. Anyone telling you a stock G trigger is better than an XD trigger should be laughed at. The finish was extremely durable. I'm in balmy SE TX and soaked the gun with sweat before and wore it for weeks before wiping it down with no corrosion. Similar to 1990's Glocks in that regard. Its fat but so flat that it carried well IWB. Sold mine with all the extra parts to a friend's dad for cheap and bought an Echelon for the house and carry an MC9 out in the world.
