I’m picking up a new DS9 Comp on Friday after toying with the idea for some time. For those of you that currently own one, have you found any worthwhile tweaks/fixes/hacks etc that you may care to share? I intend to disassemble and give it a cleaning before I take it to the range so I will have the opportunity to inspect/ change parts etc. |

Sorry I missed this thread. I have a 4.25 Ds comp, yes I changed the recoil to iirc a 8 or 9 lb and the main spring to a 19. Its what I found while searching other sites for info. I also did a trigger tweak to get rid of the disconnector hang and it helped the trigger a bunch. I also ordered torx screws for the optic plate after the factory screws loosened even with loctite, no issues since. I just bought one of the laser engraved tisas grips, its much better texture than the factory grip and for 130 bucks or so it was worth it. Fun thing is when its freshly oiled I can air rack it. |

Just picked up my 4.25" MAC Comp 2 days ago and got to shoot it side by side with my 5" Prodigy DS Comp. Hard to explain but I am liking the recoil of the shorter MAC. First modifications will definitely be a lighter hammer and recoil springs, the gun came oversprung from the factory. Next would be tuning the sear spring for lighter trigger pull but I might need to get a Colt sear spring to do that. I've read that many have changed out the MAC grip to Prodigy (cheapest) and Cheely (high end grip module) but I like the MAC grip unit as it is so will leave it alone, YMMV. Not a issue to fix but my preference - I've ordered a new AOS optic plate by EGW to allow the red dot to sit all the way back and not at the edge of the slide's ejection port. My Prodigy spits all over the red dot glass due to the witness hole on top of the barrel. Attached File |
