Who here still carries a .45 regularly? (Page 1 of 4)

| Just looking for a show of hands and what you like to carry. I’m very well versed in the advancements and effectiveness of modern 9mm defensive loads but alas, I still like to carry a .45 just because. I do still carry 9mm regularly but there’s just something about strapping on an old slab sided 1911, or Glock 30, or USP 45c, or whatever else chambered in the lords caliber! What say you? |
| I do love .45 but my P-10F 45 and my PPQ 45 are a bit too big to carry, so I edc my M&P40 2.0 compact. That might change soon though because I was eyeing a Shield 45 2.0 at my lgs and it's pretty nice, I might have to snatch it tomorrow. 13+1 .40 S&W or 8+1 .45 ACP, what would you choose? |

Statistically speaking it doesn’t matter which option you choose as long as it holds at least 5 rounds! Past me would always choose more ammo in a lighter package. Present me chooses less ammo in a heavier package lol. I think my ability to shoot everything I own well makes me more comfortable to carry something with less ammo on board. |

Honestly I like .45 over .40, I feel like 45 actually has less recoil and faster follow up shots than 40. |
| On work days, I usually just throw a pocket rocket in my front pocket for my 10 minute rural commute. The G21 or 1911 stays in the console. It's coming off and going in my desk once I get to work, so it's more convenient. On weekends I still like to carry a Gov't model in a pancake holster. |

Personally I like the .40, but I carry a 9 (occasionally. 380 or .45) 90% of the time. Though a 40 lives in my truck. |

I've been regularly carrying a Glock 20 10mm for over a quarter century but lately I seem to have caught a case of the 'Murca and I've been carrying my Sig 1911* more and more. Attached File |

Yes. Pt145 mostly I just picked up a 4" 1911 so will try that I have CCW a FNP 45 and Glock 21 before, but usually concealed by a big jacket on a OWB holster. That being said...ammo tech has brought 9mm a long ways.... But it's also brought everything else improvements. 45 is still top dawg. |

Carried a USP ,45acp for a while in the 1990’s. Magazines (10rd!) were kinda expensive, trigger was terrible, and definitely bulky under clothing. Traded away for something useful! Carried a basic Kimber SS classic for quite a few years; thought I wanted something different, but was very comfortable with the full size 1911. Received a Glock 21 for Christmas a while back and tried for a few years to love it. Just too bulky, and though I am a fairly tall person with large hands, never could shoot it as well as a revolver or 1911. Sold to a friend for his “loaner” fishing gun for guests! Tried a 1911 officer’s model. Very comfortable, though almost too small for smooth accessibility under layered clothing. Current rotation includes 2 full sized 1911 .45 and 45 super, Beretta M92X, or a 3” .44 special. Occasionally a pocket .38 +p. So yes, I carry the .45 Sometimes |
| I would if I didn't have such severe back problems. I mostly carry Sig 365SAS or Glock 26 or S&W442. |

I’ve had a Shield 45 since they came out. Great little 45 that I carried quite a bit. It hasn’t seen much use since I got the Shield Plus, however if I have to go to a capacity limit state for some reason it will be carried. |
