It’s hardly the prettiest no dash 27 out there, but the attention to detail coming from S&W back then is really something. |

While I do not mind stainless guns, I do not like stainless sights. Lighting conditions, especially on the front sight, can make an accurate shot challenging - and that is what the Target Masterpiece was designed for. In other words, to shoot the gun I would choose the Mod. 15, if I would not have a 14-2 since over 40 years and despite its very high round count it still looks okay. The 686 with the stainless sights is somewhere in the safe among a lot of other S&W revolvers.
