| The model 67 is more utilitarian, but the model 15 is far, FAR better looking. As a revolver to look at I would buy the model 15. That blue is just gorgeous and the small amount of muzzle wear just adds a touch of class showing that it has actually been carried.....as it should be. |

Given that option, one or the other, it'd be a no brainer for me. The '59 blued gun all day. In the future, with more money in hand you will find a SS '70's model much easier. My 50's S&W revo's are more well made and that assembly attention will not be coming back any time soon. |

I, too, am among those who prefer stainless guns. That said, if you plan to shoot it, ESPECIALLY outdoors, you may find the Model 15 a better option. There's a reason S&W rather quickly ditched the SS sights on the 66's and 67's-they're harder to pick up in the sunlight. (I have first year production guns of both the 66 and 67 with the SS sights.) Tough call. The stainless sights on the 67 were only used for a short time. The 15 has matching grips. Do either have the original box/docs/tools? If only one does, get that one. Otherwise, I would probably get the 67. But it would be a tough call. I put a lot of rounds down range with a 15. |

| For a working/carried a lot gun stainless is the way to go. For classic beauty blued guns rule. Personally, given the choice I would take the Model 15. The only stainless guns in my S&W collection are a 629 and 625. The .44 is a hunting gun and the 625 because I got a heck of deal on it and am a sucker for .45 acp guns. |

I would get the 67 because I don't have one with stainless sights, but in general I prefer the M15 over the 67, I prefer the actions on the blued or nickel guns over stainless would like to find a nickel M15.....(10 mins latter)...I do have a 2" nickel 15.....lol |

I am with 03RN blue is classy stainless is a solution to a nonexistent problem with even modest maintenance I carried a blued model 36 for decades in an ankle rig, stepped in puddles snow drifts etc even a couple falls into lakes and swamps, yes the finish wore ( it took a LOT longer than you would think) and even with worn finish looked great, and shot well. My current K frames are an early combat masterpiece 4 screw and mid 60’s 10-5. A few scrapes here and there, but I still use them in matches and often beat guys with fancy optic sighted semi autos. You can’t beat old school blue. Stainless is for people that ignore basic maintenance- even after a complete water submersion, 5 minutes of effort to get a blued gun back in action. Even when I lived in an extreme high humidity environment ( my 2 dehumidifiers ran 24/7 in the basement gun room) I neve4 had a rusty blue gun. |

| Those early guns with the adjustible stainless rear sights are cool and awesome collectibles but there is a decent reason why the dark rear sights replaced it and it wasn’t a cost issue. |

I suppose it depends on what you have, but if you don’t have a blued 1950s Smith, you’re missing out. Even with some finish wear, they’re amazing. Attached File |
