I just bought a P94 in .40 cal and now I see that magazines for these guns pretty much don't exist. Guess I should have researched before I bought the gun, but it seems really strange that nobody makes a decent magazine for these guns anymore. The only thing I can find are ProMags and I refuse to spend money on that garbage. |

Literally none of the ones I've used have worked correctly. Out of desperation and a moment of weakness, I actually went so far as to read the customer reviews for the ProMag 20 rounders. Pretty much every one said the mags didn't work or the feed lips had to be bent to get the mags to function. I'm not that desperate yet. I'd love to find some OEM 10 round mags, but they seem to be extinct. |

I know this thread is a year old. The story doesn’t seem to have changed in that time. I have been looking around for spare mags for my P91 for a while without success. I think the platform and the cartridge are unpopular enough that we won’t see factory mags come back into production. I was just looking for a couple more mags so I could occasionally be a goofball and shoot the local zombie match with my P91. The two 11 round mags I have might be just enough for a stage if I don’t miss or get trigger happy. Unfortunately, I tend to do both. I located two “10 round” factory mags on eBay over the weekend. They look exactly the same as my 11 round mags, so I can’t tell from the picture whether they are 10 or 11 rounds. Ruger made both. They were $90 each, plus tax and shipping. No thanks. So, I did something arguably stupider than paying $90 for a 10 round .40 mag for a $250 pistol, I bought another pistol. I found a .40 P94 with two factory mags for $260. I bought a 9mm complete P94 upper for $105. So, if my cunning plan works out I should get a 9mm P94 and two additional mags for my P91 for $365. 9mm P series mags are readily available, and still in production as best as I can tell. I’ll post whether my plan worked out when everything arrives. |
