M&P autos are very good fits to my hand but i don’t own one. The two guns that I own that just fit 1911 and a Browning BDM, an 80’s concoction with rolled and welded slides made by Sig. The BDM is high poweresque. I love the grip of a Beretta 92 but the trigger reach DA is a tad too long, same with CZ 75 types. |
The only hyphenated names I like are cartridge names......30-06, 30-40, 38-55 etc.
CZ-75s fit my hands really well. Triggers aren't great, but a trip down to Cajun Gun Works fixed that. This full size 75B was my very first handgun. I've always really loved shooting it and if I had to pick one, this would be it. Their P10C also fits me really well and some CGW & HBI parts that I installed myself also gave that one a sweet trigger. This would be my most comfortable and favorite striker fired gun - the one I shoot the best.  I also like how a classic Govt model 1911 feels in the hands. A big steel gun. The slow push of the low pressure 45ACP. These are very enjoyable to shoot just purely for the pleasure of it. I can see why these were the guns that IPSC and IDPA started with.   For a subcompact, the S&W Shield can't be beat. I'm always amazed how well I can shoot these guns compared to others in their size class. Great grip ergos, exceptional carry trigger out of the box, very accurate.   |

M&Ps feel real good in my hands. I think the one that still feels the best is a P01 Omega. It's got to be the grooves up the front of the frame/grip because they're similar to the CZ85 Compact but for some reason my hand tells me the P01 Omega is better/different. |

M&P, and Masada. Those are two that I can just pick up and shoot without worrying about getting my hand into just the right spot. PPQ and PDP are pretty good too, but I dislike the P99 and its lumpy, slippery grip. CZs, I have to be careful how I grip it so that I can reliably reach the trigger in DA mode, and then I usually struggle to deactivate the safety unless I shift my grip. VP9s take work to keep my finger from dragging the bottom of the trigger guard (and the stupid trench on the earlier ones). My VP9L has that stupid trench and I have to remember to keep my finger high on the trigger to keep my finger out of it, but my VP9 Match lacks the trench (and also has a button mag release.) |

I realized what I associate with “feels nice” is not what I shoot best/fastest/most accurately. Remember those rubberized wrap around Hogue grips for 1911s? They feel great but they are bullshit for fast draws, gun handling, etc. Kinda the way guys feel about Glock finger grooves. They feel nice when you pick it up just right but maybe best they are not there. Anything rubberized can just suck it. CZ Shadow 2s, SIG 220, and M&Ps all feel pretty nice. But really a 1911 with sharp checkering and sharp G10 grips gets the job done for me better than anything else. |

I don't use soft rubber grips on anything I'd CC (I've took some nice comfy grips off that came with guns for slicker and harder grips that conceal and draw better). But for a range gun only carried open OWB, I find a nice comfy set of Pachmayrs (like on my 1911 above) or Houges to help dampen recoil and allow me better control while shooting, especially during long sessions when recoil fatigue tends to set in. |

Yes, rubber catching on clothes is part of it. The extra bulk is part. Finger grooves that don’t cooperate with a bad draw or transfer from strong hand to weak and other things. Any recoil benefit is offset by negatives. They feel really nice but performance is not there. |

| CZ pistols, be it my sp01 shadow, pcr, or p09 feel the best and can shoot them better than others.S&W shield is a close second. I have a G45 with optic but would happily trade it for a p10. |
