I just got (again) a huge obsession with PPK's. Just older Walther PPK's a-la James Bond.
Being in CA, I can't just get any of them; I have to go selectively for the ones made up to 1969 (i.e., at least 50 years old). So here's one example that I got. This one is from WWII but I have already changed its perfectly mint WWII grips to a later brown plastic (which is even more James Bond-ish) A couple of pics. This one's in .22LR

Just got me my ideal PPK - after such a long wait (years).
This is an original, 1965 Walther PPK in .32ACP; the correct (original) caliber for James Bond's PPK and the original caliber it came out with initially, in the 1930's

Just for the lovers, I salvaged this one: I have had it re-blued (frame and slide only). Possibly blood pitting (unknown), this is an original 1945 P38. Shoots great, bought it cheaply but it was really a disaster, finish wise. Some may say I destroyed (some of) the history, but the handgun looked really bad; not even sure it was that kind of history, might have been in the hands of some random bubba who had treated her unfairly. Attached File I traded off a Norinco 1911 for this P99 & 200rds of ammo. It came with a spare extended magazine & hard case(for a Sig P225, the owner couldn’t find the Walther case). It already carries better than my Gen2 Glock 19 despite being heavier. |

 Chunky, clunky, and one of the least attractive Walther designs ever, but with a beautiful trigger, fits the hand wonderfully, and is accurate as it can be. The poor old PPX is a study in contrasts between appearance and function. |

 My new favorite toy. Couldn't stand the cheapy plastic OEM grips so I opted for a nice walnut replacement set. They were advertised to fit without modification but I wound up sanding the back a bit where it was rubbing on the trigger bar. Otherwise they fit perfectly. Works great, looks classy and feels good in the hand. The YHM Phantom can sounds great too. I feel like I should get a tux and a shoulder holster for it  |
