Attached File GT Distributors in Dallas has this used CZ 97bd for $849.99 (no magazine). No affiliation except they take my money several times a year  Apparently, Greg Cote has magazines (CZ and Mec-Gar) that fit (and CZ baseplates for the Mec-Gar so they look OEM). Their used gun prices are often pretty competitive, but I'm not a CZ guy and only remember that these aren't found every day. They also had two CZ p10c in the case, $319 & 359. I didn't check what the difference was (they typically sell them as they come in, one mag, four mags, whatever). |

I've bought a lot of guns with only one mag, but never one that didn't have any! Except revolvers of course. I agree with the others that it's pricy. But these were pretty rare to see even when they were in production. I always wanted one, but they always were pricy, and just ten rounds capacity always put me off when it came down to actually buying one. When you talk with folks that actually own these, they seem to collect dust in a dark corner of the gun safe more often than not. Now I have a 45ACP P-10F and I think it's likely a better gun in every way except the '97 is probably inherently more accurate (but probably not practically for most of us). $300 for a lightly used P10C doesn't sound bad (That's what I'd offer for it). Maybe the $360 one is optics ready and the other's not? Did those have mags? |

It's mostly the shitbox guns that are placed out without a magazine. It's very rare for their $200+ guns to be missing one. If they're still there next time, I'll check for the optic cut. I didn't think of that. But sometimes, pricing is just inconsistent. A few weeks ago, they had two Glocks sitting next to each other. $259.99 Gen2 G22 $399.99 Gen3 G22 I didn't see a single difference between them

I don't know about the 97s but Mecgar is said to be the maker of the CZ mags, too. Mecgar makes them and they either get stamped CZ or Mecgar. If stamped CZ they sell for about $10 to $15 more each than when stamped Mecgar. At least that's what I've read on the CZ Forum. The 97's are said to be pretty awesome function/accuracy wise. I don't know. Never bought one. |

Everything else equal, Gen 3s are usually the cheapest here due to being most common. Maybe there was a big difference in wear or some aftermarket parts on one of them. |

Sometimes even better than CZ, often having an option for slightly more capacity with updated +1 or +2 baseplates that the CZ mags may not have - though with the 97B mags they are probably the exact same mags that CZ included in the box. MecGar is the OEM for many other guns as well. They make very good magazines. Never buy a manufacturer branded magazine if you can buy a MecGar for cheaper - it's usually the same exact mag. |

I fondled a 97 at a LGS when I was looking for a new 45. It felt like holding a brick. I believe they make thin grips for it that are supposed help, but it changed my mind on getting one. I tried the LOK slim grips, which definitely are thinner but didn't help the blocky feel. The palm-swell models, though, helped quite a lot. Still slimmer than the factory slabs, but the added contour was a big plus for me. |

I just bought a 97bd at a local shop here about a month ago. I paid $1100 for mine, but it was was converted to 10mm with a CZCustom Bar-Sto barrel and 40 S&W extractor. As a fan of CZs and 10mm I couldn't pass it up. Attached File |

If you want to go nuts you can find up to 20 round high quality race gun mags made for the guys who compete with the factory EAA race guns |

I have 2 CZ97’s. Bought both used but were like new. Home based ffl I used quite a bit would often call me with interesting guns he was selling for customers. I paid under $400 for each one. They were about a year apart. One is the blued version without front slide serrations. Absolutely a beautiful gun. They are great shooters. I wear a xl size glove and occasionally xxl. Grip is large on the 97. I can’t imagine shooting it with smaller hands. I’ve wanted to send out my black 97 to be case hardened for years. Just never seem to get around to it.
