I am trying to obtain a Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 5 inch, optics ready, polymer. However, I live in Illinois which has a 15 round mag limit. I cannot find the gun for sale  with 10 or 15 round mags. Any idea how to obtain one?

Ask the vendor to sell the gun without magazines.  Pretty normal way of doing it if you can't find one that comes with mags that comply with stupid laws.

Those are all metal frames, OP mentioned poly.

I guess worse case I'd buy the 4.25" and buy a 5" slide assemble separate.
