Time for another .32 Caliber REeeeevolver Thread!!!! (Page 1 of 2)

We seem to do these about once a year. All .32 welcome! Even the stupid Ruger Single SEVEN ( SEVEN???  )     In all seriousness (or as much as I can muster) post up and all .32s that are tripping your trigger, that you have acquired or that you have owned and loved for however long. So, my whole thing with .32s starts after a really bad time in my life almost 20 years ago where I ended up pretty darned destitute. At some point when things were a teeny bit better, I knew I needed something small, thin and reliable that was easier to conceal than my usual Browning Hi-Power and.or my 1911s. I found a little Walther PP (which is NOT a Reeeevolver) in .32 Auto and with a bit of TLC and some Mil Tac grips gave me a pleasant and reliable (and very accurate ) little deeper conceal piece. Another, this gun was the beginning of my love affair with all things .32 caliber. A few years later, my poor teeny girlfriend was really struggling with finding a hand gun that actually fit her, was easy to operate and that she could actually enjoy. By a stroke of pure accident we discovered that even a full size 1873 reeevolver in a moderate caliber like .38 Special was very easy for her to use and she really started to love shooting a lot more because she could effectively participate and shoot like everyone else could. THAT lead to my investigations into .32 caliber reevolvers such as .32 H&R Magnum and it's switch hit'n sister bullet the .32 S&W. I bought a little Uberti Model P Jr that was on sale and after one cylinder through that she ordered one with a proper 5.5 inch barrel instead of my lame 3 inch barrel. She was in LOOOOOOOOVE. Well, her enjoyment spurred ME on into other .32 auto and .32 reeeeevolvers and I am smitten with the caliber. It just seems a perfect, round the house, do-all, general purpose bullet. Fast forward a couple of years: I had the horrible "misfortune" of being invited to a private estate sale a few weeks ago. In the sale were TWO Ruger Single Six .32 H&R magnums. One completely unfired and another moderately used but in excellent shape. I HAD to snag them. So, now I have added these to our stables:  The one above is mine. Wood OEM grips are in the box but....I kinda like these "Sissy Pistol" grips. They feel nice. I just got done cleaning it and, yeah, I really like it. This one is my girlfriend's. Totally unfired!!!! Can't wait for her to shoot this one.  Here is my girl's Model P Jr that she absolutely loves except for one thing. It seems that the models P Jr's all use 3.0 inch ejector housings....and the 3.0 inch ejector rod does NOT kick the cases completely. For her gun, it will be a matter of finding a slightly longer housing and rod that is the length of her Ruger. For my 3 inch barreled gun...I am going to swap to a longer barrel THEN the long housing. Anyway, still a realllly nice gun. Love shooting hers a lot more than mine:  So! Show me them .32s, Boys!!!!! |

Currently at three. A three inch Smith 31-1, an older Colt Detective Special, and a Taurus 327. The 32 Long guns are quite mild. 337 Federal is a snappy bitch. 32 H&R seems to be the sweet spot. Looking at these because airweight j frames with carry ammo in 38 Special don’t work with arthritic hands. |

I walked away from a 14-4 at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago. Lemme tell ya, it was incredibly gorgeous. Had it been a 16-4, wild horses could not have drug me away from it. |

My 2 .32 revolvers. A S&W 31-1 that I purchased from a friend who used it as his tackle box gun. And my Ruger SP 101 in 327 Federal. Below them is the pistol that sent me down the 32 caliber road, a 1937 Walther PP in .32acp of course. I have many more small .32 semi autos because of that little Walther.

This is one of those "old school revolvers" Centerfire Systems was selling a few years ago. I believe they advertised it as having timing issues and poor finish. Well the finish is obvious, but the action is tight as new , I don't believe it's had more than a cylinder full fired through it. No grips when I got it , I modified these to fit. Has the Colt Duotone finish that they used for a short period. I think i paid a little over $200 Attached File Attached File |

Damn you damn you! I knew I shouldn't read this post but you got me anyway! I'm down to just one .32 and it's not much but it carries well and it is always the one I go to when just throwing something in my pocket to go to the store. A simple Kel-Tec P32. That I've had since they came out. Now I have find a little .32 wheel gun to keep it company.

+1 on the 631 being made again! I started the .32 journey with a 31-1 in.32 S&W Long. Next up was my substitute for a model 16 was a Ruger Sp101 4.2” in .327 fed. I did pick up a model 16-4 6”, I’d rather a 4” but hey it was at a reachable price. I like the .32s and a firm H&R load is nice. No desire to actually acquire any .327 ammo. |

I played with scotch brite pads until the laminate took on a patina vs a shine S&W really needs to bring it back with the rising popularity of .32 H&R. Probably an issue with the frame handling higher PSI cartridges I can just barely pocket carry my 442, but this one disappears in my pocket and carries well despite being steel. Unfortunately it is pretty loose, or I'd send it for DLC; I'm pretty irreverent in that regard

Like I don't already have ENOUGH .32s, this is in .32 Ballard long which is .320 Webley long which is also ORIGINAL .32 Colt Long until Colt stopped using heeled bullets and then the just abruptly changed to a completely new .32, the .32 New Police which is also just .32 S&W. It's all so confusing!!!!

32 Mag LCR with Lost River 100 gr full power wadcutters. the front sight with the white line shot too high, as you can see in the photo, so I changed it out for a green dot which supposedly will lower impact |

I have a BSA Martini Cadet that has been rechambered to 32\40 Winchester, which is the same as 32/40 Ballard. Only have one box of ammo for it. No one seems to be making it at the current time. It's a bummer, because I really want to shoot it, but fear I will not be able to find anymore ammo for it. I'm not a reloader, and right now have no time to take on that facet of the hobby. |
