Saw one at the gun store the other day and started looking at the reviews. Seems like a decent P365X/XL-sized 1911 style pistol. The only thing is what seems to be the lack of 3 O'clock IWB holsters for it. Also, I was thinking of getting the non-threaded barrel version, but they seem to be hard to come by. |

Its strange to me that they refer to this as a "1911" when it really doesn't share anything with the 1911.. grip, trigger, MS, etc... Not a sig fanboy by any stretch!! I picked mine up on Wednesday of last week. First impressions: -It’s nicely finished. -Fits really, really well in my hands (I have pretty large hands). -Same size overall as my Ruger LC9 sub-compact. -For an all-metal gun it’s not especially heavy. Likely due to an aluminum lower. -Takes down mostly like a modern pistol (with a couple minor quirks) rather than a 1911, but it has a lot of the 1911 look and feel. -Your grip will not slip in your hands. It has a lot of bite, but not quite enough to be uncomfortable. -Holster options are limited currently but not so much that you can’t find what you need. Impressions from after the first range trip and ~200rds. Observations: -200rds of 9mm through any subcompact pistol is punishing, but thankfully this one seems to be noticeably less than my Ruger LC9. -It’s a subcompact, so keep expectations modest on accuracy. That said, it did the job well at 7-10yrds. -I had no malfunctions. -The magazines for it were especially stiff and even now I’d say are not fully broken in. -Cleaning was pretty easy due to being a modern design. UPDATE: First weekend after my holster arrived for my CDS9. Some CCW impressions... -I have a leather OWB holster from Southern Trapper for reference. -I was wearing a longer tee shirt (to cover the pistol), shorts and normal leather belt. -After the first couple hours, I effectively 'forgot' I was wearing the pistol, despite the additional weight over my LC9. -Not sure what else I can add that the above doesn't cover or would become a review of the holster rather than the pistol. My final verdict is that this will become my primary CCW going forward. |

Thanks for the review. Did you get the threaded barrel version? I'm looking at that now. KYGUNCO can't give me an accurate picture of what they're selling. I've seen the non threaded come in black slide with gray frame and the threaded version has gray slide and black frame. Also weird that it only comes with the 13 and 15 rd mags. Why not just give us the 10, 13 and 15 in one box.  |

This is an awesome review. I ended up needing wrist surgery so I'm waiting for that to heal before I get one. Looking for the non-threaded barrel version but it seems the price has gone up since I originally started this thread. |

I don't know if you saw this or not, but I got an email with this deal yesterday. https://grabagun.com/kimber-cds9-black-grey-9mm-3-18-barrel-13-15-rounds.html They also have the other versions with the red (non-threaded) or orange grips (threaded). I really want a non-threaded one with the orange grips. I don't know why, but this gun has my attention. |

I personally find the all grey/black version boring looking compared to the original, while I also find the orange grip a little too 'loud' and the threaded barrel kind of ridiculous for a subcompact CCW. Just my take and preference. |

I think I might start looking into the Kimber 2K11 PRO Eclipse vs the Staccato HD P4.5. It won't be a carry gun. Price wise, it'll be a wash between the two. I think the Staccato will be cheaper by $100 and I already have a bazillion Glock mags. |
