 A New Footprint. A New Standard. This new optic fits the Delta Point Pro footprint and brings another option for multi-footprint guns other than just an RMR. The SE DPP has a narrower base, so it won't overhang the slide as much as an RMR, but they have added more of an overhang above the lens to help protect it. The XE AMRS vs the SE DPP for size. The deck height is slightly lower than the XE AMRS because it does not have the pop up sight.

When I bought that CZ P10 F Competition, I ordered a plate for it so I could use the Comp Dot, but I hated the 8moa dot, so it didn't get shot much. When I was given the choice of what footprint of optic I wanted to test I picked the DPP just so I could replace that stupid Vortex with something. I now see it as a viable option for some of the newer pistol designs with multi-footprint cuts from the factory, like many SIG's that take RMR or DPP (these are trickier to mount because of the lack of lugs) or things like the Ruger RXM that use pins to allow you to adapt it to your sight of choice, or the Gen 6 Glock that has a DPP plate in the box. If you look at the picture of the slides from the rear, the DPP footprint has significantly less overhang on the slide than an RMR footprint does, and some people will like that. |
