People want to stuff the .32 and .380 into small handguns and expect the cartridge to perform as if it were launched from a larger platform. If you fire the 7.65mm Browning and 9mm Browning from a 2.75-3.9-inch barrel, they perform much better. While they might not "disappear" into the front pocket of your slacks, you can extract far better performance from the longer barrels. (I guess the larger pistols aren't "trendy" because the "polymer" pistols have taken over). |

I don't know about current small pistols, but I have a Bayard Model 1908 in 7.65 MM made in 1923. It is roughly the same size as a Kel Tec P32. I carry it sometimes, in a Bianchi 18 A clip on holster made for a Beretta Model 950 .25 auto. It is accurate at "bad breath" distances, roughly 10' to 12'. It doesn't match the effectiveness of a .38 snub loaded with 110 grain HPs, but it's better than having no gun at all. Gary |

This is why, as of today, I have no fewer than five (5) .32 ACP pistols. The pistols are as follows, 1. Zastava M70, 2. Tanfoglio Titan II, 3. Walther (Manhurin) PP, 4 Kel-Tec P32, 5. Bersa Thunder .32 (just in today.) The Zastava, Tanfoglio, and Walther have 3.75-3.9" barrels. The Bresa Thunder has a 3.5" barrel. I prefer the steel/alloy frames and longer barrels when I can use them. |
