Olight is junk. The one I was gifted had a failed battery latch after less than 300 rounds. My buddy has two that the mounts both broke. There is no convincing me these are worth buying. Streamlight thinks they can charge USA prices for Chinese lights. The TLR used to be my go to. Over the past few years they’ve almost doubled in price. Why would any sane person pay $200 for a Chinese “budget” Streamlight when US X300’s go on sale for $240 regularly. Inforce. My one example has never failed, but it’s just way behind everything else. Enter the PID. I don’t like Holosun. Of my four optics two have failed, one catastrophically. I wanted a big budget light for my big G41 though, and saw some reviews that were very favorable. What the hell, why not? Attached File Other than some ringing in the beam which some might not like, I like this thing. A lot actually. Mine took a 5 foot drop onto my hardwood floor and didn’t blink. I will caveat that I don’t have a lot of rounds through it, but lots of people do without issue. Time will tell. I think at the $100 price point for the standard version, it’s going to be my new cheap light go to. I think it stacks up well against the TLR at half the price, and it’s done incredibly well in torture testing. If you can, buy an X300. If you’re financially limited or just have a ton of guns you don’t want to justify spending that much to get lights on, this may be the new champion. I've not tried the holosun but have never had issues with streamlight. Like surefire, they are regularly on sale and can be had for $100.

I run the PID HC on my duty weapon after years of running a Streamlight up to and including streamlights new offerings. No problems with holster fitment and so far I like the Holosun a lot. With that being said it’s only been a few months and I know I will forget to charge it and will die when needed. Just my 2 cents from someone who carries and uses a handgun 14 days a month on 12 hour shifts. |

Mine has been doing it for a week now and is still bright enough to be very uncomfortable to the eyes. |

How is holster availability? For the PID+ on a G41, there are very few options. Found On Point Holsters who makes stuff for pretty much every pistol and light made. For the standard PID that will go on my M&P 45, I’ll probably get a Werkz that indexes off the light. Seems the holster makers are starting to get significantly better at making light based modular holsters without it being some obscene behemoth like the old Blackhawk Omnivores, so I’ll report back my findings. I’ve seen some TLR1 holsters work, some don’t. I’m probably not going to bet on it but will test on the ones I do have. |

Added a standard PID. I will say I’m not a fan of how tough the switches are, but still prefer them to rotary toggles. Attached File |

Got a Werkz modular PID holster. Fitment is good and you definitely don’t have to worry about slide rub. It is huge though. I’m pretty sure if Hipoint made a 6” model it would fit as they went a bit overboard in slide clearance. That said it is rock solid and high quality. I got mine for OWB open on the range and have no issue with it in that capacity. |

So you quite a sale price on the x300 while claiming the TLR-1HL is a $200 light, completely ignoring that the Streamlights go on sale to the $130-150 range as well. Yes, a pure Chinese company can undersell an American company. But if I have an issue with a Streamlight, I can drive seven miles to an authorized Streamlight dealer where they can often fix an issue on the spot, under warranty. Now if you want a new light and absolutely do not want to go over $100, the Holosun do look like a decent option. Although I've used Nightstick weaponlights and prefer them over the Streamlights. I picked up my TWM-30T for $107 and TCM-10 for $69. I hope to pick up the new TCM-10T later this year (2.62", 1000lm, 25,000 candela). |
Froot Loops are all the same flavor. They just taste like froot. Whatever the heck that is.

There’s not a world that exists where any current Chinese pistol light is worth that much. I’ve never heard of a gun store fixing lights under warranty. Of course, this happens once I personally own it: Attached File Attached File Emailed Streamlight, they mailed out a new battery door, good for another ten years. I’m curious to see the long term performance of the PID and what customer service will be if needed. I did email holosun once about some screws for a 507, and they also shipped some out right away for free. I just wish it had a more common form factor. |

i have TLR-1s and TLR-7s on all of my pistols that have rails. I saw the PID-K and read that it fit holsters designed for the TLR-7. Just for something different, i thought i would give it a try. I actually like the light and it fit fine in the holster for my M&P Carry Comp Attached File |

So the PID on a G17 fits both of my TLR1 G17 holsters. They are a tad loose but once adjusted for retention, they worked. One is a Blacklist Concealment and the other one I have no idea who made it. Don’t take that as a guarantee since all holsters are different. |
