Saw one locally. Little rattely, but supposedly unfired with 3 14 rd mags. I didn't see the other 2, but the one in the gun is a black mec gar. Forgot to ask if it had the box or anything. It would be $1400+ 5.3% tax. Seems a little high, but I don't know. |

Personally with all the budget 2011 guns offered now I’d pass on any para because They had QC issues, they take para mags not the readily and getting cheaper 2011 mags and the company went out of business so no warranty support I worked on one years ago that the hammer and sear holes in the frame were not square from one side of the frame to the other |

I had a P14-56 that had nearly 52,000 rds on it, and it still shot very accurately and was 100% reliable after break in. By break in, I mean, the first two mags, I had two failures on the first mag and one on the second. After that I only had failures when I was going beyond normal exchange times for the recoil spring ( once), and I had the spring in my range bag. It went about 2800rds beyond the normal life. Then I did the same with magazine springs. They went around 1500 rounds beyond their typical lifetime. I changed all springs, recoil and mag springs, with Wolffe +1 springs. I never had a failure of any kind after that. I fired about every kind of store bought ammo through it, but it was mostly my handloads, LSWCs, fmj, and HPs. I sold it and used the money to buy a nice single stack that I'd been wanting. It was running when I sold it, and it's still running today, and still being carried from time to time by the friend I sold it to. i sold it about 10 years ago. I bought it in the early 2,000s. I don't know anything about the one you're looking at, but if you can find a low round count, Canadian built gun, that's what I'd do. |

What I really liked about mine…softest shooting 45 ever(steel frame,5”). This is one I bought from a guy in the uspsa club who ran the snot out of it. Then I ran it to B class, till I got a .40 para. Got bored one winter and painted it. Finish was mostly gone anyway. Attached File |

The RIA is likely better built too. The Paras were never great but for a long time they were adequate. The later ones were not as good, as they were stuffed with MIM and bad ideas. The Black Ops was their last gasp at profitability before closing the doors. If you want a Para style, look for the now discontinued Springfield double stack or RIAs. The Remingtons are also out there and going for not much money. |

Paras are an odd duck. When IDPA was taking off in this area they were all the rage. Many people swore by them. The kicker was if any gun failed in a match, it was almost certainly a Para. It was regular as clockwork. Some ran like a fine watch. Others didn't. There was never any rhyme or reason to it. If there was a Para in the match I knew I wasn't finishing last. So many better and cheaper options available today. I don't know why anyone would consider a Para. The price on that one is three times what I would even get mildly interested in. |

Well LGS was either tired of sitting on it or paid way way less than what they were asking. Traded a tisas ds 1911 and a turknelli clone I got in trade for something else for the para. Definetely no where near as nice as my Baer but it isnt bad. Hopefully it functions. Attached File Attached File |

I actually like the Para style double stack Vs the 2011's. I could care less about having a removeable grip frame. The Para double stack mags have more capacity for the same size. A Para P14 mag holds 14 rounds. The same length 45 2011 mag only hold 11 rounds. It also holds more than my H&K's. I think you will like it. Here are my RIA para clones. 9mm on top, 45 on the bottom. I fitted threaded barrels to both, as well as a few other things.
