Yesterday evening I was at the local county fair, sitting in the top row of bleachers watching the rodeo with my back against a chain link fence. When I went to stand up, I quickly realized that I had somehow become positively connected to the fence. During the time I was sitting there, the rearmost belt clip on my IWB holster, underneath my shirt, managed to slip over and attach itself to the fence. It took a solid minute or two for me to discretely unhook it before I was free. I’m thankful that I realized it before standing up too fast and having it rip my holster and gun out, or lord knows what else. I’m also thankful that I didn’t need to quickly stand up and move in response to any sort of emergency. I’ve been carrying concealed handguns in this type of holster almost daily for over 20 years now, and that was certainly an unexpected first. I’m not sure what the lesson is here, other than just something to be aware of. Perhaps this could be another advantage of appendix carry, but I’ve tried that so hard and it just isn't for me. |

| I think if you carry all day, everyday, like many members here claim they do (but don't!) this kind of stuff comes up. I've miss judged corners and slammed by gun into walls and door frames, I've gotten it stuck on chairs in restaurants, there's wear in my truck seat on one side from the grip, etc. The worst is when my young kids will run up to give dad a hug and slam their face into the holstered gun on my hip, no matter how I try and turn away. They learned that one quick at least. |

They learned that one quick at least. No issues carried at 1 o' clock. I'm pretty careful about smashing my junk into things. In the dark ages when I carried in uniform? That thing hit everything. That's when I see a trade in Glock with a pristine grip, I know it was a spare gun

I had a new IWB holster that did not have good enough retention for a loaded Glock 27 when I had to make an urgent pit stop. Would you believe, it's really loud when hitting a tile floor inside a stall? Reason #2, see what I did there, to not buy a used carry weapon. Jester |
