Get a set of needle files of your liking.

Best are Swiss needle files.
Buy from jeweler's supply houses like Jules Borel or Otto Frei.

I have a set of F. Dick needle files (12 files to a set, in a blue binder) that have built 5 1911s so far and still going strong.  There might be better, but these have performed very well.

I recently bought a set of US made grobet needle files from Amazon and they are leaps and bounds better than your typical $8 harbor freight chinese sets.  Well worth the additional cost.

Bought a cheap $5 set at Harbor Freight.  The Atlas grip grip fit without fitment.  I had to file down the safety but took my time.
