BACKSTORY: My only two handguns are my 229 for HD/SHTF, and my P225a1 for EDC. Both have been 100% sharp and reliable. I had a P320 Compact that I really liked but sold it awhile back. It had nothing to do with current ud/nd news. I had a couple light primer strikes that my 229 was able to fire, and a couple dead trigger moments. This made me hesitant about the platform. Still, I really liked the P320 as a camping, hiking, outdoor handgun that I shot well and was intending to fill the EDC role. CURRENTLY: I recently put together a G19C on a Grit Grip frame. The frame is great, but my itch for the 19C faded the moment I had it in my possession. I regret purchasing a ported slide and barrel. Still, it is a time-tested platform that I can rely on to do the job. THOUGHTS/SOLUTION: 1. Do I keep the G19c, maybe replace the barrel and slide down the road? 2. Do I trade the G19c to purchase a P320? 3. Other thoughts and solution? Thanks! PS: My goal with the G19 or P320 is to become an EDC, appendix IWB. Are they or how are they "safer" to carry than the P320? If I do carry it, because of my body type it would most likely be appendix. |

I’ve had both you are considering and although I love the G19, it wouldn’t be my carry piece now unless I could always be outside the waist band. The 365x or xl are probably the perfect EDCs. You can get 14 in the mag with the mag guts spring replacement. (although the slightly larger macro is very nice also) The 365 doesn’t seem to have the negative rep of the 320. And you can’t customize it and put whatever aftermarket grip is good for you. And it has the option for a manual safety (I personally won’t appendix carry without one) but that’s just me. |

If you want a 320, get a 320. I still carry one on duty and still enjoy shooting it, and I have 100 percent confidence in it. But...a 365 macro build has become my go-to for everything except uniformed carry. I can still get the same round count out of a smaller and easier to conceal package, and I would have no hesitation going in to any scenario with it |

Owning a G19, 320, and 365.....buy the 365 if IWB is how you want to carry. I "can" and have carried the G19 IWB in various positions, currently I'm all in on the AIWB train, but the 365 is so much easier/nicer to carry it's not even funny. The 320 and G19 are a bit more pleasurable to shoot but it's not a drastic difference from the 365. Ultimately I haven't IWB carried my G19 now in several years now and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I'll carry it OWB, but it's really rare for me to ever carry OWB in general. |
