Not a Ronin, but I have an Operator AOS. I suspect that the Ronin will functionally be as good as any other Springer. The AOS cut is nice, but I (and others) had issues with the plate loosening over time. It would start rocking side to side after about 200 shots. Fixed it by getting a different set of mounting screws, properly degreasing *everything*, and laying down threadlocker not just on the screws but also along the mating surface between the slide and the plate. Been great ever since.

I recently got a 9mm Ronin AOS 5” variant. Just took it to the range today for a couple hundred rounds. I was satisfied with it. Accurate as heck if I did my part. Slide to frame fit is acceptable imo. Same with factory trigger. I plan on de-MIM’ing it eventually and having some work done to it, but overall I’m happy with it out of the box.

Well I picked one up and went to the range. I got the “Gear Pak” which includes 4 mags and a green dot sight installed. Also included was the filler plate and a AOS discount coupon, carry bag. The weight pictured is with an empty mag. I weighed a steel framed commander and it was 7oz more. The gun was well lubricated so I wiped off some of the excess before shooting. I ran 5 or six mags thru it, the gun functioned perfectly. The dot was easily adjusted. Trigger is pretty good. Overall I am impressed. I will shoot this in some IDPA matches and see how it holds up.

| Nice! I just bought one of those for my girls to try, but it's not here yet. They like shooting my ACW commander in .45, but I figure the 9mm will be a little easier for them (and I'm not buying them each an ACW). I have a .45 Ronin commander that has been outstanding. Feeds anything, very tight and very accurate. One of my favorite 1911s. I carry it over the ACW on days when my back injuries start talking to me. |

Took mine out to the range. Had a couple failures to feed in the first 50 rounds, and it was chucking brass in my face. Put another 150 rounds through it and it settled down and started running 100% without smacking me with brass. Fed 124 grain +P Gold Dot perfectly after the break-in. Sight is cheap- will be replacing with a Holosun. Overall, very nice little gun. Would buy again. |
