Scored a damn near pristine Model 85 at the local shop. It needs the correct grips but other than that it appears to be used little to none. I have a feeling this was bought and left on a shelf and forgotten about. LGS took it on trade about an hour before I stopped in. JF prefix on the SN comes back to a June 1990 manufacture date. | I hope you have better luck with yours than I did with my 85CH. Mine had timing issues from day 1. Pull the trigger slowly and it might not index correctly and fail to fire. Pull the trigger normally and it would occasionally spit lead back into my face. Mine went down the road as trading fodder for a Smith 642 Airweight that spends most of its time in a Galco ankle holster. |

I had a later CH and put around 800rds through it. Old FBI 158gr +p, 148hbwc, miscellaneous junk, really old nyclad 158 lswchp +p. Never had an issue. Had to mod the rubber grips for a speed loader. |
