I know these have been around for awhile. How have they held up? I now have a ton of CZ75 magazines from my Jericho's, figured I'd grab one of these for 3 bills. I learned that quite a few of these parts exchange with Tanfolgios. Looks like even the slides swap lmao. I can confirm the barrels work. Seems like a lot of gun for the money, I might pick up the compact since I am guilty of having way too many full size duty guns. I figure worst case if something fails, I can cannibalize the parts. |

Tanfoglio has been involved in virtually all CZ-75 type firearms, either as a supplier of guns or of parts. They were involved to one level or another with the Swiss Action Arms, FIE, Excam, Springfield P9, the Italian Gamba, and the various Israeli Baby Eagle and police guns. The Turks wanted a CZ-75 type pistol for their military and Tanfoglio was very involved in the SAR 2000. In fact, the SAR 2000 is a VERY close exact copy of the small frame Tanfoglio Witness types. So, most Tanfoglio magazines and many parts will interchange, or close to it. I get various stories about using CZ magazines in SAR and Tanfoglio pistols. Some say the work some say no, and some say if you put a flat floor plate on a CZ mag it fits. These various polymer CZ type pistols are pretty much the Tanfoglio Witness with a plastic frame. |

About the polymer frame, honestly that's also why I kinda want one. The Jerichos I have are freakin boat anchors lmao. If one of these proves to be reliable I might throw it in the carry rotation. I'm kinda bored with Glocks and have been on a CZ/Tanfolgio kick lately. Also about the magazines, thanks. That is good to know. A majority of my magazine floor plates are steel. I've been grabbing IWI/Elander mags for pretty cheap. I very much regret not getting one of these sooner, especially when the 22lr conversion slide was basically only $50 more with the pistol.  |

Weight aside, you really need to look at the stainless SAR 2000ST or standard black 2000. Forged slide and frame, and hammer forged barrel. The barrel has a mirror bright polish inside and out. It's heavy, but mine is absolutely flawless...NO machine marks anywhere inside or out, and every surface is precise and precisely the same on either side. You can get some great prices, especially on gunbroker in the $360 range......

Looks good, actually wouldn't be surprised if that and the Sar2000 use the same slides. If I pick up a Sar 2000 I will see if they swap. If so I can convert it to a Commander style if I feel like it.  You weren't kidding though, my barrel was polished to a mirror finish. My only complaint is how the frame squares up and gets thicker. It's pretty chunky polymer. I'm going to throw a Hogue Handall on this so I can get a higher grip without sanding off anything. Ergononomicss are okay until you go for a higher grip, which kinda ruins the best thing about CZ/Tanfolgio. But for $260 it was a good buy. Looks like the CM9 fixes this but only full size grips are avail.

Seems like it does does, I believe it's more cosmetic. Was more for shits and giggles I won't be firing that live.. I just found it interesting. To have a full size slide on a compact grip, I'm probably going to just order a spare Sar slide/barrel. For what it's worth, From what I was reading somebody managed to get the 22lr EAA Witness/Sar slide working on their Jericho frame. Of course the SAR slide looked like it sat further back on the frame. So he just milled the rear of that particular side to sit flush/cerakoted it. I just found it really neat. Attached File The back of the Jericho slide is shorter, but looks like the internals, barrel, and firing pin are in the same location. The safety does not work with the SAR slide on the Jericho frame. I'll be buying a couple Galloway spring kits for the SAR and Jericho. So maybe I'll get pics of the internals after they are both detail stripped. |

Also, I just use a 13# S&W revolver rebound spring for the hammer spring and it lightens the DA pull immensely. |

| I picked up two of these for the 179 deal from psa. One shot great and had no issues, the other one was occasionally hanging up and not always feeding. It looks like the magazine isn't sitting as tight to the top as the other one. If I tap the mag the slide begins to close and feed the round. Mind you I haven't cleaned these guns or oiled them and everything is brand new and not oiled up. So I'll give it cleaning and try to figure it out. I'm not complaining for a cheap gun. Both triggers were fine, I'd guess between 4 and 5 lbs, and shot to point of aim. I'll edit this just to point out I have only tried ball ammo so far. |

Sorry to hear that about the 2nd one. Try swapping slides, etc? Wonder what's causing that. Wonder if the magazine release is out of spec? Or I wonder if the slide stop is being fucky. Can always give SAR a call. I mainly use Tanfolgios compact/Jericho mags in mine. Hog Island is also g2g, it's where I picked up the full size slide pretty cheap. The gun has a better trigger pull with the full size slide. Maybe it's just used/broken in? Oh for magazines Maplewood Industries has Jericho/IWI brand for only $19 each. Can confirm they work in the SAR along with mecgar cz75 mags. The Mecgar +2 extenders also fit the SAR OEM mags. Another random thing, the compact slide and barrel will work on the full size frame if you want to have a commander style Sar. |

Mecgar+2 extensions fit the Sar mags perfectly (I would not be surprised if Mecgar made them). They did not fit my jericho elander/tanfolgio mags. I couldnt find a sleeve for them, but I bet one can be 3d printed. Tanfo/Jericho/Cz75 magazines should all work. |

I just picked one up yesterday I ordered from psa for $219. It's a B6C with the od green lower. I hope it cycles 115 grain ammo. I also bought a SAR ST9 and it won't run 115 grain to save it's life. I shortened the recoil spring and it worked a tad better but I am not going to waste my time messing with it any further. Guess I'll either have to buy higher grain expensive ammo to plink with or hang it on the wall as a reminder not to buy ammo picky firearms, LOL. |

Yes, they were made to nato ammo spec. The ST9 in particular was the standard issue sidearm for Turkey's Special forces supposedly. 124 grain and up are supposed to cycle the action reliably. I've gotten mine to run almost a full magazine of 115 grain el cheapo ammo but if I am not careful and limpwrist it even a tad it won't fully eject the spent casing and halfway chamber the next round. I have to drop the mag and clear it and usually two unfired rounds come out behind the magazine. I had hoped clipping a couple of loops off of the recoil spring would fix it, and while it did improve a bit it was still not enough. The recoil spring assembly on them is a captured type and you can't get it apart without breaking something and no one makes reduced power springs for these. My plan going forward is to buy another complete recoil spring assembly and trim on the current one a little more and see if I can get it weak enough to run 115 grain, and have the un touched spring for heavier weight ammo. |

Even if a spring that would fit it can be found, you cannot take the captured recoil spring assembly apart without damaging it. Its a two peice rod with a press fit end cap on it holding the whole thing together.  From what I've read cutting the spring is the only solution to the issue other than milling sections out of the slide to lighten it. Or just feed it $$$ ammunition that will cycle that heavy recoil assembly. Which defeats the poupose of a budget pistol, LOL. |

Honestly, my only complaint is the shit ergonomics. It makes me want a SAR2000 now for the frame alone. Added Bonus is my compact SAR B6 slide will work on it. Never let a barrel or slide go to waste lol. 3D printer sounds nice about now. If Glock frames can be done, I bet somebody did these. The Bump near the beavertail sucks and needs to be smoothed/filed down. |

| Great gun. I had one i bought in like 2015. Beat the crap out of that thing and never an issue. I got a really good trade offer for it from a guy at the range and he traded a canik SFX straight up for it and i couldnt pass up that deal. I need to grab another one now that they go on sale for so cheap |

A buddy talked me into picking up the compact B6C version when PSA had them on a daily deal for $179 to go with the fullsize one. Picked it up yesterday, and I really like how it handles. And since SARUSA is selling the threaded barrel for $99, I have that on its way to me now. It'll be after Christmas before I get a chance to shoot it, but It seems like a nice little gun. When I was picking it up, the LGS employees were commenting on it saying "that's High-point money, but not a piece of shit." and I think two of them were getting on their phones to order one. |
