G17 Gen 6, RMR HD and X300U. Looking for an ALS. On the Trijicon site for compatibility they show that the 6354RDS works for RMR HD. However on Safariland with the 'holster finder' criteria and selecting "Large Open Emitter like RMR HD" it does not give me the purchase option for the 6354RDS w/ flip away hood. Only the 6354RDSO which I believe is larger for SRO and no hood. What gives? Anyone know if a 6354RDS for RMR will work with this setup utilizing RMR HD? Yes I plan on calling Safariland but figured real work experience here is more reliable. Thanks! |

| I think Jeff at RDR Gear will have more of a correct answer for you, versus the customer service reps at Safariland. He was super helpful in finding the right holster for my TRS Comp. You can message him on IG too and he's pretty good at responding quickly |

Thanks, I'm familiar with the company. I'll hit him up. I have a 6390RDS for G17 Gen 5. I just tried it with my G17 Gen 6 and the ALS would not engage / lock. I've seen some report of Gen 5 holsters working great with Gen 6 but that was absolutely not the case with my 6390. |

| IIRC, it'll depend on when your ALS holster was made. Earlier ones that predate the SRO/RMR HD wouldn't work because of the geometry on the ALS locking mechanism would run into the forward set optic before it could lockup. Over time, SL updated the design and corrected it and I think both the RDS and RDSO models for Glocks should now work, but don't quote me on that, nor do I know the timeline for the design update. |

Can confirm the Gen 5 model works fine. The newer 6390 does have way more coverage around the grip than my older models. Nothing a little Dremel and polishing work couldn’t fix though. Now a proper grip can be built in the holster. Before and after. Attached File Attached File |
