There is a RECALL concerning a crack that could form but Ruger will take care of the problem should it arise. Provision for an RMR would be nice. Slides are available on eBay if you’d like to send it off for milling with no concern for messing up your original slide. |
| I know lots of people who have lots of guns. I don't know anybody who has a Ruger American. I can't knock it because I don't know anything about it, but I don't even see any real discussion about it on this forum or any of the others I visit. Even the Ruger forum doesn't seem to have much about it. |

I shot it along with a bunch of other strikers. It was okay. I call it a $300 gun. Wouldn’t spend any more for it. Fired 15 rounds of each, 7 yards, aimed fire but not slow fire. First time firing most of them, including the RAR. Attached File I thought the trigger was rather mushy, the grips weren’t very grippy and were small (some may like that, I don’t with my big hands). It was rather heavy, which soaked up recoil okay. It is a cheap, generic pistol that feels like a cheap, generic pistol. I’d spend a little more to get a lot better myself. |
