In the late 1990s, everyone thought the best lubricate was Tetra Gun Grease. I just got back from Glock and it appears they are going away from TetraGun Grease due to it trapping water against parts. What is the current recommendation for lubricate for Glocks? |

Whatever is in reach, same as for my other guns. You said you just got back from Glock and learned they are moving away from Tetragun. What did they tell you when you asked what they were using instead? |
| They don’t care. At one time I had a factory armorer do a tear down inspection on my gun. He had about 4 bottles of various oils on his bench and I asked if they had specific roles. He said no he will use whatever is closest to hand, had gotten the small samples he was using at various trade shows. Total oil requirement for a glock is about a Q tip soaked in oil applied to the right locations and they usually run bone dry anyway, so it doesn’t matter. |

Oil is oil, Man. Use whatever. slip 2000, MobilOne, Remoil (works great on carbon/ shotgun wad fouling) old skool CLP or LSA. |

A combo of these two. Grease for things that slide, oil for all others. super lube grease .05 oz tube super lube 4 oz bottle For rust prevention on exterior boeshield 4 oz bike drip bottle |

I have been using a mixture of 50/50 Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil and Mobil 1 synthetic transmission fluid with great success. I ended up with a half gallon of excellent lubricant for around $40.00. I figured that those two lubricants are designed to operate in environments of heat and extremely high pressure...just what you find in engines, transmissions and firearms. I use that lube for rifles, and pistols..even gas operated rifles. If I want a thicker viscosity so it stays where I put it longer, I will mix some synthetic grease in with the 50/50 mixture until I get the desired viscosity...it has been effective, and cheap! It beats the hell out of the designer gun lubricants that usually cost $10-20 for 4 ounces. |

There's a few that aren't, like the canola oil based ones, and they don't work nearly as well, although in most cases, you'll never shoot it enough to tell the difference. |

In my engineering opinion grease for open systems oil for closed systems with or without a pump I have yet to see a gun with a closed lubrication system |
