I’m wondering if anyone has a line on a good rain coat for concealed carry. It seems like this year it rains every day where I live and my current rain coat is very good at keeping me dry but it’s a little long and tight around the bottom of it to make a smooth draw when it’s zipped. For reference I carry strong side IWB. I was wondering if anyone had a good shorter solution or something on the looser side at the bottom that worked well. I’ve seen some 5.11 ones with a side zip but that feels a little obvious for staying low profile. Thanks. |

Filson maybe? Not sure when or why rain gear went waist coat lengrh or bitch fitted. Wet balls because some asshole thinks you are going dawn a whole set of rain gear is fucking dumb as dog shit. Man I miss the old mid thigh length navy issue. |

Throw a J frame 38 in the exterior pocket - really the best most efficient. You can walk around with your hand in your pocket with a full grip on the gun with no one the wiser. No draw practice beats already having a grip on the gun. Having grown up in a place where heavy winter coats and cold inclement weather were typical for 6+ months out of the year, most dedicated ccw people would put a revolver in an exterior pocket as a solution. |

I’ve been thinking of doing that with my G43 for winter but have hesitated because of taking the coat off. The good thing about my winter coat is that it has a zipper and snaps on the outside so most of the time I just use the snaps that pull right apart when I got to draw. For my rain coat I think any gun in the pocket will sag a lot. |

This is what you seek The OR foray has ventilation zips that go from hem to armpit. It’s a great feature in general, but great for concealed carry or throwing over/around armor etc. |

for winter carry I switch to a shoulder holster for better access, though it's much less comfortable. For some reason my body does not like shoulder carry, it always feels like I'm somehow losing circulation despite nothing being tight and my gun being light. In the future I might just switch my pocket gun (usually in my front pocket) to a front coat pocket while it's on. Unfortunately, most of my old winter jackets have oddly shallow front pockets that won't conceal anything but the smallest guns. |
