I made a impulse buy on a Pietta GWII at a big box today. Of course, like most big department stores, you can barely even give the guns a cursory inspection because of their crazy policies and trigger locks on everything. Anyway, I get this thing home and the trigger is godawful (and a couple other little issues, but this is the main thing). I don't have a trigger pull gauge handy, but I'd bet north of 8 pounds. I don't even have anything to compare it to, it's so heavy. Anyone had a similar issue that has cured it without a trip to a gunsmith? Guess that'll teach me better than to listen to YouTube praises about how awesome Piettas are. My Uberti is several rungs on the ladder above than this thing... |

| Brownells has reduced strength, aftermarket trigger springs for many revolvers. You might call them and ask if they have anything that might fit your Pietta. I recently bought lighter trigger springs for a Ruger Vaquero from Brownells and they were easy to install and worked well. The Pietta may be similar. Brownells might know where to find information about trigger jobs for your gun. They also have a lot of books on gunsmithing for sale. |

| I did a little calling around and found a reputable gunsmith pretty near me so I'm just going to drop it off with him tomorrow and let him just go through it and slick the action up and do a trigger job. |
