Taurus USA is re-releasing the 58 series in the States.  Here is both the black and nickel versions on Taurus USA’s website. While not everyone’s cup of tea, these are on par size wise with Beretta 84s. More like blowback 92s. They have huge capacity for a .380 and have a good track record for reliability. A full sized pistol in 380 makes a lot of sense when you have terrible arthritis because you don’t have to fight with the recoil spring weight. That makes it fun to go to the range again for 40 year olds like my old self. I used to be a snob about Taurus guns but S&W has been putting out literal garbage so I’m getting one. This is a huge seller in Brazil where 380 auto is what they can get. There are some spicy loads approaching 9x19 from some places. The best part about the 58 being imported is magazines are available again! They were going for $50-100 on GB. Presently both models are in the wild on GB. Taurus dropped the promo video on YT yesterday so the website doesn’t have the pdf manual, magazines or anything yet. Just the black and stainless finished pistols. |

I just watched a YouTube video from the NRA show and a Taurus rep said the grips are interchangeable with full size, and thus very customizable. |

I’m was planning on going. stainless. Some wood grip will make it pop. But, the pictures from some auctions make the slide look matte and the frame only being polished. It looks really bad having the matte and polished contrast. Ipanema EDC  I hope that 92 holsters fit. |
