I have a friend with one of the old unfinished p80 frame kits, complete with jig and drill bits. We got to talking and can't figure it out. Were these banned? Are they kosher now? |

There was a period where the ATF tried to reclassify them as firearms, so Polymer80 stopped selling them. Then at the same time, various entities sued Polymer80 and drained them of money through having the fight the litigation. The ATF lost their bid to reclassify them, but the loss of revenue from having to suspend sales plus the bleeding from the court cases ended up ruining the company and they are now gone.  So they're not banned, but other companies are hesitant to get into that business for fear they could face the same treatment I'm sure. |
