I have a full size P320 that I recently Duracoated. It’s on a Flux defense lower. Since I refinished it, I get a light strike about every third round. The first issue I found is that the rounds are not struck in the center of the primer, but closer to the edge. I tried this upper on a different lower to rule out the lower as an issue. Same issue on a different lower. I removed all of the finish from the bolt face, cleaned the firing pin and channel. Same issue. When I manually push the firing pin forward, it comes through all the way right where it’s supposed to. The hole on the bolt face is not enlarged, looks normal. The only thing I can think is that some how the barrel is not locking in the exact right spot. Has anyone seen an issue like this before? If so how did you correct it? I really don’t want to take a wire brush to the upper. I’m also concerned that if I keep cycling the upper the way it is, it will cause wear the will allow it to lock in a place that is shouldn’t be allowed to. |

When you pull the slide back and drop it, does it happen at full speed or can you feel some drag? I would clean up the inner rails with some finish sandpaper. Makes sure everything is as slick as possible. If you didn't seal off the striker channel and breach face when applying the duracoat...that striker channel isn't going to be as clean as you think it is. That's a tough spot to try and removed cured product. |
