Ok, so I picked up a FCU that is marked "M17" etc., I also got a Wilson compact frame, (15rd) and I just got a SiG subcompact slide assembly. (3.6") Did I screw up? The slide will not go far enough to the rear for the slide lock to engage. Are the FCUs not the same from one model to another? I've never seen this issue before, so I figured I'd put this out there so someone can point out how stupid I am, cause I ain't getting it. |

According to THIS the grip isnt compatible with 3.6" slides Youd need a X compact one from Wilson Here is a helpful thread on compatibility |

My dumbass was trying to figure out what was stopping the slide from going all the way back, not noting the weird back of the recoil assembly wasn't round, but had two cut outs that I thought went horizontal, when they in fact go vertical. Damn slide went right on. |

I just cut out the slots for the safety and viola! It fits fine. And now that my dumbass figured out the recoil spring, it cycles smooth as glass. Can't wait to get out and shoot it. ... |

Damn slide went right on. Don't feel bad. I did the same thing when I first tried to put a subcompact slide on mine. I googled and then found out about the recoil assembly. I really like the 3.6" slide and 15-round magazine combination. Yes, you could get a lighter pistol and comparable capacity with one of the P365 models, but I like how this size P320 handles and feels. I shoot it better than my P365XL. I started by building a black one based on an M18 FCU, using the Wilson Combat XCompact grip. This has become my primary carry pistol, as my larger M18's 17-round grip sticks out just a little too far to be comfortable and conceal well, even if it's only a slight difference in length. Attached File I liked that one so much, I built a Coyote version, but this time I used the SIG XCompact grip. I'm waiting for the FOXTROT 2R to be available separate in Coyote so I can add that on. I find that more comfortable, and better looking (cause that's always important). I feel like SIG only reluctantly still supports the 15-round grip size though, so I don't seem them ever going back to the subcompact. |
