So I’m starting to eye the P-09C. The guntry club I belong to has some in stock and I’m liking the feel of in the hands, and despite the long-ish trigger pull I’m liking the single action pull of the gun. The problem is, looking online at reviews and threads about the gun opinions seem to be all over the place. My question is less have you personally had any issues with your P-09C than has CZ fixed the problems with the guns they’re producing now? Or, knowing the internet always amplifies everything negative, were those issues always overblown in the first place? And beyond that, for those that have had them for awhile, do you like the gun? Do you have it as a daily carry? Is it worth the squeeze in your opinion? And finally, if I do pull the trigger on one, is there anything worth upgrading on it? |

I bought one in September 2024 when they first started shipping to replace the P-07 that my wife commandeered from me. I have shot mine a lot at the range with no issues at all. I carry it with Speer 124gn +P Golddots. I do not have a optic on it yet but maybe someday. All mags for the P-07 will fit but new P-09C mags are not backwards compatible due to the baseplates. P-07 holsters will fit just fine. Also the P-07 Kadet II 22LR kit works fine. The must have accessory to get is the Cajun Gun Work's P Series Complete Upgrade Spring Kit . It is the best $29.00 you can spend. The problems were totally overblown by youtubers that slapped a reddot on it right out of the box and ran to the range with their cameras. Maybe if they would have checked the length of the screws and not assumed that the ones that came with the reddot were correct. Of course it gets more clicks to just blindly bad mouth the gun maker. I hope CZ blacklisted Honest Outlaw for that review he did. He did a lot of damage to CZ talking out his .... |

I had a P07 for years. Did the full CGW kit on it, had a standard and threaded barrel. Absolutely spectacular gun. The Nocturne version is just that gun with better grip texture and optics cut. Get one. If you go full Cajun with it, there was some breaking in before it really got to full potential from a trigger perspective. Honest Outlaw comes off as a doofus. Take what anyone on YouTube says with a big grain of salt. |

Attached File I like mine. I should be finishing up my review pretty soon. The trigger definitely leaves something to be desired, debating the CGW kit before the review is done or not. |

My P-07 was a long time ago, the first edition DUTY model. No photos survive of this gun...unfortunately.
It worked well, the only problem I had was the stippling was so aggressive that it actually rubbed me raw while carrying concealed. Only gun that ever did that. The DUTY model had an issue, I honestly don't remember what the issue was, but it was corrected. This was about 15 years ago. I would not hesitate to carry one today, to be honest, the newest iteration as the P-09C is the best they've put out, from what I am told. |
