I have a Swampfox Justice on a full size gun that get shot a lot and it works well. Looks like the Sentinel is their RMSc offering at $99 https://www.swampfoxoptics.com/sentinel |

I’ve been looking at that footprint lately as well. Vortex defender ccw, now in fde! Gideon Judge XL. Big ol glass in a tiny footprint. Holosun 407k Holosun eps carry for enclosed emitter options. Mechanik makes one for $125 that looks interesting. Anyways you probably can’t go wrong with any of them Looks like swamp fox and primary arms make one as well. |

Which slide will it be mounting on? The slide width makes a difference in choosing an optic that'll NOT protrude over the sides. Small frame Glocks and 1911's are just right for the smaller optics, around 1" wide. Then there's the issue of the optic being taller than you may like, due to adapter (Glock MOS for example) plates. Other than being higher over the bore axis, the reason you may not like it, is because the iron sights may become too low to be visible through the optic. Most people like having irons visible. Blacked out front sight posts are ideal for pistol optics IMO (who needs two glowing dots to confuse the sight picture - an rds dot and a tritium front post dot is grotesque lol). Holosun 407k is the lowest price, bang for the buck option in my IME. If you gotta have a circle-dot then 507k. Don't be confused with these models and their "X2" at the end of their model number. It indicates the second "X2" generation. Their first generation had the up/down buttons similar to Trijicon's. Trijicon sued and Holosun had to change their up/down buttons. Here's vid focused on 507k but also touches on new users and other RDSs 507k + Just be aware your quest for the lowest cost budget option could produce lowest/budget performance too. That could skew your opinions to the point you might hate the experience. |

Oproducts are fine if you know that they are a fidget toy company that makes collectable flashlights. The SE is their first serious move to go after the budget red dot market. I have a Vortex Defender CCW (3 moa/red) on my Glock 48 and have been happy with it. I've only had it a for 3-4 months now and have only shot a few hundred rounds with it installed though. https://www.primaryarms.com/vortex-defender-ccw-red-dot-sight-3-moa I have the Defender CompDot (XL) on my Glock 34 with at least a thousand rounds through it and it's been perfect. So that is what led to my giving the CCW model a chance. |

But to have that on a dot that isnt mounted on a range toy, no thank you The hood on the original Osight was an issue, and I told them that from the start, which ended up in them redesigning it to no longer interfere with rear sights on the X model. The S has no such issues, and the cover is reversible just in case you have some weird sight scenario that they didn't foresee. If you don't like the rechargeable S model, they make what is effectively the same sight that uses a replaceable cell in the SE. |

I’m in the same boat as you. I think I may go with the Osight SE. YouTube has some great reviews showing durability and some forums like Reddit are giving it good reviews as well. Price ranges from $129-$199. Osight is also on Amazon free shipping and returns. My other options is the Holosun EPS. The price is much higher but it’s also a known commodity. |
